P90X Part 2, P90neXt, P90X: MC2, P90X the next generation…

One on OneWhatever you want to call it, a BRAND NEW VERSION of P90X is coming out in 2011! The official title is called P90X: MC2. The MC stands for muscle confusion and that is what go me in the best shape of my life with the first P90X.

After I completed Power 90 in 2003 I was looking on the horizon of a new program Beachbody was going to put out for us P90 grads. They started putting teaser videos on their web site for a new program caller Power 90 Extreme, which was shortened to P90X. In 2004 I had the pleasure of being in the first group of P90Xplorers and we forged on wondering where this 90 day program would take us. With intense workouts that left no muscle untouched we saw changes happen with our strength and flexibility every week. We watched the rep count increase as we recorded our results on our daily logs. And yes, we learned many lessons on how to eat properly to fuel our bodies for such an intense workout.

Now, we get to experience the thrill again… twice! This time, no teaser videos. We can dive right in on what Tony Horton is working on. Middle-Aged and Feeling Better than High School Days

I “want” to say I am middle-aged. I mean, I’d hate to think I am beyond that because I certainly don’t feel like it. You see, I hide my true age through plastic surgery and Photoshop (Just kidding. Photoshop does work wonders though! Look at magazine models!).

Actually, I learned to reverse the age thing by revamping the way I treat my body and changing the way I look at life. I am 45 years old and continue to improve as each decade passes. I’m proud of that.

It’s not easy to stay consistent at something, but treating yourself by taking good care of YOU is a must. An absolute must.

There are so many things working hard to keep us from making that happen. So, retooling your mind to decide who is in control is the first step. It’s easy for others and circumstances to seemingly make our decisions for us, but at what cost?

Now, I’m not going to get on my soap box and tell you to get off the “poor me” bandwagon. You know you can do the things to get yourself healthy and fit. And, if you’re subscribed to this newsletter, you know how. You’ve seen and read testimonies. You’ve seen the tools I’ve suggested and the nutritional products to get results!

Hard work? Yes! Just tell yourself “bring it on!” Because you know what? You are surrounded by tons of support and know it can be done one day at a time. Ignoring it and doing nothing should not be an option. I don’t believe people set goals to treat themselves poorly, but you know what? I think it happens when people don’t put themselves first. Ignoring what needs to be done is similar to consciously deciding not to take care of yourself. (I hear my car and house applauding that statement when they are in need of repairs. Noted!)

It took me almost 40 years to figure that out. I let things slide for way too long. I’m just fortunate that I got clued in and took action. Each day, every day, a little bit better. And now, I am proud to be middle-aged and feeling better than my high school days!

What are you waiting for?

OK, so you got inspired in the wee hours of the morning when an infomercial for P90X, Insanity, Turbo Jam or Brazil Butt Lift came on the tube. The program was filled with energy and grabbed your attention. As you watched and listened to the amazing success stories you began to think, “I want that! I want that now! I can do that!” So… you ran to the phone because you didn’t want to call after the timer on the TV ran out or you’d miss out on the free gift! Plus… free shipping… well gotta love that.

Then you waited. A few days passed and you eagerly got your workout program. You began to panic a bit, but were also excited. “This could be life changing,” you thought. “Can I really do this?” you began to question.

You opened and ready the materials. Seemed to make sense, but somehow you figured you’d start “next week.” That way you could really read over the materials. You even decided to watch a few of the DVDs to see what they were really like. On a few you got up and did a few moves, but sat back down and skipped through the rest of the DVD.

The weekend came. You took measurements and embarrassingly took the dreaded Before photo. Day 1 came and you worked out. It was WAY HARDER than you thought. You hit pause a few times and skipped a few moves. Then Day 2 came. You were way sore, so only did a little. Day 3 was sore, so you skipped and thought you’d catch up on your rest day. The pattern repeated for a week or so before halting the sporadic workout schedule because of a small cold. The product sat there glaring at you well after the time you recovered. You thought about starting over again, but that’s as far as it went.

You shelved the product. Eventually you came to the conclusion that it didn’t work for you. Time went on and you kept growing and feeling less and less energetic.

How did doing nothing work for you? It wasn’t the program that didn’t work. You just didn’t give yourself a fighting chance. The time is NOW to turn it around!

You can do it! What are you waiting for? Dig out the videos, make a plan and stick to it for at least 6 weeks. Just 6 weeks! The soreness is short lived. The benefits are HUGE and the confidence immense.
You DESERVE it.

A Totally New Body One Year From Now

Often when I was in my 20s and 30s and getting fatter and fatter I had had visions of going away to a fat camp or fitness camp or some sort of retreat where I could live for a year and work hard to totally transform my body and my health. I often pictured the scene as people would barely recognize me and would ask lots of questions or statements like, “What’s your secret?” “What Have you been doing” or “Man, you look awesome!”

Well, I never made it to that get away and years passed without any progress in the health arena. Guess what! I kept growing bigger and feeling weak, tired, lethargic, and crumpy. Yep. Me…Grumpy. I was edgy a lot of the time.

Well, as you know I discovered that infomercial that changed my life and didn’t need to get away to change my body, health or life. Now I feel energized, happy and look pretty darn fit!

SUCCESS STORY


Don Pettinger, a superintendent of schools in southern California, took on this challenge starting in May of 2009. Here’s what happened in Don’s words:

I started using Power 90 after seeing first hand the results my daughter had with P90x. When I started using Beachbody products I was spinning the scale 3 plus times coming in at 303lbs. 45 days into the program, I had gone from wearing a size 42 to a 36 and from 303lbs to 265 lbs. I am no different then each of you, I have a very busy life and between work, church and family commitments I never thought I could fit anytime for a workout into my schedule. After reviewing the Power 90 program, I saw I would only need to make about a 30-minute commitment for each workout, so I decided to give it a try. I thought this was less time then it would take me to get ready and to go and come back from the gym.

I am so glad I pushed play that first day. I can’t remember the last time in my life I have felt so good.

I have completed Power 90, ChaLean Extreme and now weight 222 lbs and down to a 34inch waste. On January 22, 10 I started my first round of P90X.
